JIP – Jack-in-point, a terminal in Meatspace to access the virtual Cyberspace world.
Meatspace – The “real” physical world where Corps and Punks do battle.
Cyberspace – A virtual world where deckers battle to gain control over certain elements in Meatspace and sometimes capture objectives.
Objective – Varies in appearance, usually identified by a floating blue/red circular icon on the HUD in the direction of its location. There are usually multiple objectives on a map, and one team must defend them, while another attacks. Some examples of objectives are things that must be destroyed, buttons that can be pressed, or things that must be decked in Cyberspace via a specific JIP. Many objectives can only be capture via a specific JIP, and so players sometimes use the word JIP to also mean Objective in some cases.
Decker – Someone with the Cyberdeck implant which is used to access Cyberspace. A Decker is immobile and vulnerable while they are using a JIP, they can also activate Stealth while decking which makes it almost impossible to notice they are using it.
Node – A location in Cyberspace usually resembling a small room with a Cyber security screen and usually also an ICE wall. Mostly referred to by the thing they control, e.g. Turret node / Turret security.
Server – A location in Cyberspace usually containing one or multiple Nodes, usually a large cube shaped room of differing colours. Usually specific to a certain objective and normally there's no need to refer to it by it's name / colour.
Cap – Short for capture, as in capturing the objective, cap the objective.
